Frequently Asked Questions

How do I restore Courtzy Pro?
Sign in to Courtzy, open the Courtzy Pro screen or Profile tab, and tap Restore Purchases. The device must use the same Apple ID or Google account that made the purchase.
How do I cancel my monthly subscription?
Manage or cancel Courtzy Pro through your Apple ID subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. Deleting Courtzy or deleting your Courtzy account does not cancel the store subscription.
Does my legacy lifetime purchase still work?
Yes. A previous Support the Developer lifetime purchase continues to grant Courtzy Pro. Use Restore Purchases while signed in if it is not recognized automatically.
Who can create a sanctioned event?
A signed-in Courtzy Pro user can create and host a sanctioned event, either as an Open Play event or as a Tournament Mode event. Other signed-in Courtzy users can accept invitations and participate without a Pro subscription.
How do push notifications work?
When you are signed in and allow notifications, Courtzy sends device push notifications for friend requests, accepted friend requests, and sanctioned-event invitations. Tapping one opens your Notifications list in the app. If you decline or later disable the permission in system settings, the same notifications still appear inside the app under Notifications. Signing out stops push notifications to that device.
What is Tournament Mode?
Tournament Mode is a kind of sanctioned event where matchups follow a bracket instead of the open-play rotation queue. Hosts choose Single Elimination, Double Elimination, Round Robin, or Hybrid Knockout (round-robin pools followed by a knockout stage), a match length of best-of-1, best-of-3, or best-of-5, and an optional third-place match. Entrants are seeded by their Courtzy Elo rating, doubles tournaments use fixed teams assigned during preparation, and the live bracket — including standings, series scores, and the champion — is visible to the host, co-hosts, spectators, and participants, and can be saved as an image.
How does live session sharing work?
A signed-in host can share a regular live session and receive a six-character spectator code. Spectators enter that code in Courtzy — or tap a shared courtzy.netlify.app link — to follow the session in read-only mode.
What is a co-host code?
While sharing a session, the host can switch on Co-hosting to get a second code. Signed-in users who join with a co-host code get the same session controls as the host — recording scores, managing the queue and bench, and ending the session — with changes synced live to everyone. Only the host can share the session or manage its codes, and the host can revoke co-host access at any time by turning co-hosting off or stopping sharing.
How do I list a court for booking?
Sign in, open the Book tab, go to My Courts, and tap to list a court. Enter the location name, sport, number of courts, hourly rate, address and Google Maps link, the opening hours for each day, amenities, an optional description, and at least one contact detail (phone, email, or link) so players can reach you. Listing a court does not require Courtzy Pro.
Why does my new listing say “In Review,” and when does it go live?
New court listings are reviewed by the Courtzy team before they appear to other players, to help keep the marketplace legitimate. Your listing stays visible to you under My Courts while it is in review, and you get a notification once it is approved and live — or declined with a reason you can address.
If I edit an approved listing, does it go back to review?
Yes. Your current listing stays live with its existing details, and the changes you submit are reviewed before they replace it. You will be notified once the changes are approved and applied. This keeps a listing from being changed into something misleading after approval.
How do I book a court, and how is payment handled?
In the Book tab, open a listing, pick the courts and hours you want, add a contact detail so the owner can reach you, and send a request. The owner confirms or declines it, and you are notified either way. Courtzy does not process payments for court time — any payment or arrangement is made directly between you and the court owner, outside the app, using the contact details on the listing.
Who can see my contact details?
The contact details you publish on a court listing are shown to signed-in Courtzy users browsing the Book area so they can reach you about a booking. When you request a booking, the contact detail you enter is shown to that court's owner so they can confirm it. Only publish contact information you are comfortable sharing.
How do I report a court listing?
Open the listing and use Report to flag it as, for example, non-existent, misleading, a duplicate, a scam, impersonation, or inappropriate. Reports are reviewed, and a listing reported by several different users is automatically hidden pending review. You can also report or block the owner from their profile.
What happens to my listings and bookings if I delete my account?
Deleting your account removes your court listings and the bookings and holds on them, the booking requests you made on other courts (including the notes and contact detail they carried), and your booking-reputation record, along with your profile data. Deleting your account does not cancel a Courtzy Pro subscription.
Why did my Elo not change after a session?
Elo updates require an eligible session, including the current minimum duration, completed matches, and linked Courtzy users for every match participant. The host must end the session for Elo to be applied.
How do I delete my session history or account?
Delete sport-specific local session history from the Sessions tab. To delete your signed-in Courtzy account, open Profile and use Delete Account. Account deletion does not cancel Courtzy Pro.
How do I change my advertising privacy choice?
On iOS and iPadOS, manage Courtzy's tracking permission in Apple Settings after responding to the App Tracking Transparency prompt. When available for your region, you can also open Profile > About Courtzy > Ad Privacy Choices to review or update regional advertising consent preferences. Courtzy still works if tracking permission is denied.
Why does Courtzy ask for tracking permission?
Courtzy uses Google AdMob to show ads to non-Pro users. Allowing tracking lets the Google Mobile Ads SDK use the device advertising identifier to show more relevant (personalized) ads and measure ad performance. Courtzy does not share Courtzy profile, friend, session, score, or event content with AdMob for ad targeting. If you decline, Courtzy still works and ads are shown as non-personalized or limited ads. Apple requires the App Tracking Transparency prompt for that permission on iOS and iPadOS.
How do I report or block a player profile?
Open the player profile from the Leaderboard, then use Report to submit details to Courtzy support or Block to hide that player from your account's leaderboard, search, friend requests, and event notifications. You can unblock players later from Profile > Blocked Players.

Purchase Help

If an active subscription or legacy lifetime purchase still does not unlock Pro after restoration, email support with your platform, approximate purchase date, and store receipt or order number. Do not email payment-card details.

Live Sharing and Events

You must be signed in to host a shared live session. Courtzy Pro is also required to create a sanctioned event, in either Open Play or Tournament Mode. Spectators can join a shared regular session with its current six-character spectator code, and signed-in users can join with a co-host code to help run the session. Sanctioned-event invitations must be accepted from Notifications or through a supported event link. Session and event links shared from the app open Courtzy directly when it is installed. In Tournament Mode, matchups, seeding, and results follow the chosen bracket format rather than the rotation queue.

Court Booking

The Book tab lets signed-in users list courts for rent and request to book courts listed by others; a Courtzy Pro subscription is not required. New listings and edits to approved listings are reviewed before they go live. To book, open a listing, choose the courts and hours, add a contact detail, and send a request for the owner to confirm or decline. Courtzy does not process payments for court time — payment and other arrangements happen directly between the booker and the owner, outside the app, using the listing's contact details. Report a fake or misleading listing from the listing screen, or report or block a user from their profile.

Account and Data Help

You can delete sport-specific local session history from the Sessions tab and delete your signed-in Courtzy account from Profile. Deleting your account also removes your court listings, the bookings you made, and your booking-reputation record. For questions about remaining online data after deletion, email support from the address associated with the account when possible.

Ads and Tracking Help

Courtzy Pro removes ads. Non-Pro users may see Google AdMob ads on supported native platforms. On iOS and iPadOS, the Apple tracking permission setting controls whether Courtzy can allow access to the device advertising identifier for personalized ads and ad measurement; declining shows non-personalized or limited ads instead. Regional Ad Privacy Choices, when shown, are separate advertising consent controls and do not override the Apple tracking permission setting.
